Terri Kosik is the Executive Director for the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC), a college lab school serving the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s
College communities. During her 30+ years working with young children, families, and college students at ECDC, her tireless hard work has driven the development of an exemplary early care and education program. Under her leadership, ECDC earned and maintains accreditation by the National Association for the Education for Young Children (NAEYC). The ECDC provides a high quality holistic program, grounded in best practices of the profession and enriched by the founding guiding philosophy and methods of Adlerian Psychology. The ECDC faculty and administrators work diligently to foster a learning environment promoting respect, responsibility, resourcefulness and responsiveness.
Terri’s professional influence reaches well beyond the ECDC. She teaches undergraduate and graduate early childhood education courses at Saint Mary’s College and Indiana University South Bend. She serves as an early childhood advocate and leader, administering grants and facilitating activities in the South Bend community that support early childhood quality and training initiatives for teachers. She is active with NAEYC, IAEYC, Early Childhood Professionals of Northern Indiana, Director’s Roundtable, National Coalition of Campus Children’s Centers and other organizations advocating for young children and families. Her association with and support of Sophia Group, from its inception, paved the way for early growth to quickly become a trusted and respected resource for the lay and professional communities of the region.
